Terms of Use

Effective date: 14 July 2026  ·  Version: 2026-07-14-v1

Required before launch: replace REPLACE_LEGAL_NAME, REPLACE_POSTAL_ADDRESS, REPLACE_SUPPORT_EMAIL, REPLACE_GOVERNING_LAW and REPLACE_COURTS. Obtain jurisdiction-specific legal review.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms form an agreement between the user and REPLACE_LEGAL_NAME, of REPLACE_POSTAL_ADDRESS (“LanguageStride”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or purchasing a subscription, the user agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

Users must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering this agreement. Account information must be accurate. Users are responsible for protecting credentials and activity under their account.

3. The service

LanguageStride provides language-learning cards, script and sound practice, stories, internal readiness checkpoints, progress tracking and optional AI-assisted learning tools. Features and curriculum coverage may differ by language and level.

4. Educational and assessment limitations

LanguageStride is a practice service. It does not guarantee fluency, examination results, employment, admission or immigration outcomes. Its A1–B2 labels describe the internal course pathway. Internal checkpoints are not accredited CEFR examinations and do not issue official certificates. Mandarin and Japanese stages are not official HSK or JLPT equivalences unless explicitly stated after specialist review.

5. AI limitations

AI-generated explanations, corrections, scores and plans can be incomplete, inconsistent or wrong. They are learning support rather than professional, accredited or definitive linguistic assessment. The AI assesses confirmed text or transcripts only and does not score pronunciation or audio unless a future feature explicitly states otherwise.

6. Free and paid access

The Free plan includes limited course content and AI credits. Pro unlocks the paid features described on the pricing page. AI allowances are usage controls, not stored monetary value, and do not roll over unless expressly stated. We may adjust limits prospectively to protect reliability and cost, but will not remove already-paid access without a valid reason.

7. Subscriptions and renewal

Subscriptions are purchased on Stripe’s hosted checkout. The price, billing interval and applicable amount are shown before payment. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Users can update payment details or cancel through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal while paid access continues until the current period ends, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

8. Taxes and payment issues

Taxes and charges are handled according to the checkout configuration and applicable law. A subscription may be restricted or suspended when payment fails, is reversed or is reasonably suspected to be fraudulent. LanguageStride does not store full card details.

9. Acceptable use

Users must not share or resell accounts; scrape or bulk-copy course content; reverse engineer security or entitlement controls; bypass AI limits; submit unlawful or harmful content; interfere with other users; test stolen payment credentials; or use automated traffic without written permission.

10. User content

Users retain rights in text they enter. They grant LanguageStride the limited rights needed to process that text, provide requested features, secure the service and comply with law. Users must have the right to submit the content and should avoid sensitive personal information.

11. Intellectual property

The LanguageStride software, interface, branding, original lessons and associated materials are owned by or licensed to LanguageStride. Users receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the service for private learning during permitted access.

12. Availability and changes

We may maintain, update or discontinue features, providers or models. Temporary interruptions may occur. Material changes affecting paid access will be handled reasonably and subject to mandatory consumer rights.

13. Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access for material breach, fraud, security abuse, unlawful activity or serious harm to the service. Users may stop using the service and can delete the account after cancelling any active subscription.

14. Refunds

Cancellations and refund requests are governed by the Cancellation and Refund Policy and mandatory consumer law.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to mandatory law, LanguageStride is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, examination outcomes or reliance on AI output. Any contractual limitation must be reviewed and completed for the target market before launch.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by REPLACE_GOVERNING_LAW. Subject to mandatory consumer rights, disputes are subject to REPLACE_COURTS. Consumers may retain rights to bring claims in their home jurisdiction.
